Fishery Control

A 2008 World Bank report named the “Sunken Billions” has determined that the world’s fishing fleets are losing $50 billion USD annually due to depleted stocks and poor fishery management and supervision. The cumulative global loss of wealth over the past three decades is estimated at $2.2 trillion.

Approximately 30% of the world’s marine fish stocks are considered overexploited and an additional 50% are fully exploited; furthermore, 50% of global fish production originates from developing countries, which lack the proper infrastructure to effectively monitor their exclusive economic zones.

Windward’s MarInt and MarInt Plus products provide a unique solution for monitoring and preventing of illegal fisheries. Our system enables clients not only to locate illegal fishermen – poaching at the local EEZ – but also assists in identifying and intercepting them.

Our professional teams adapt the service level and method to the local environment and challenges while providing professional instruction and quick system operation.
